Product Description

Faith didn't realize that her life was about to change forever.

Faith Martin never imagined any other life than the one she was leading on her family's little farm outside of Birchwood, Missouri. But as the year 1855 unfolds, her family makes a life changing decision that forces them all into the vast unknown. With so many unanswered questions, Faith and her family set out on a journey that will tax everyone's strength. After many hardships and adventures, they reach the safety of their new life. It seems like a haven of rest after the many rough and heartrending sorrows that accosted them along the way. Feeling safe and secure, Faith starts to enjoy the rugged life out west.

But when Faith and her younger brother find themselves in the hands of brutal outlaws with no hope of deliverance, her will to go on almost fails her. Trying desperately to cling to everything dear to her, Faith struggles to remain true to her life verse, Romans 8:28. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."

From the Author
I began this book when I was eleven years old and had some pretty outlandish ideas for it! Two years later, I hadn't gotten very far in the writing of it, but my maturity of thought and ideas had! For the next two years, I went through rewriting, editing, and adding several large portions of the book.

I am, naturally, of an adventurous sort and so all of the adventures my characters in this book, and in future books, go through are things I've imagined up and thought 'Wow, wouldn't that be cool!' I know the average person doesn't experience half of the things I write about, but that's one reason I've written this book! Anything can happen in a fictional book!

Anyway, in a year or so I hope to have my second book published, which PROMISES to be MUCH more adventurous! And just to give you an idea, here's just a few things that it will include: a fatal fall from a horse, assault with a deadly weapon, courtship, Typhoid break out, love, and abduction with lethal intentions. If you would like me to send you an email once it's published, just send me an email at legacy1992@gmail.com and I will be sure to contact you when I've published it!

The Indians began shooting their arrows, while the defenders opened fire. The Indians continued to surround the wagons, and some even began to dismount in an attempt to break into the small circle. The men quickly leapt out from underneath the wagons to fight with the Indians, as the women and boys continued to fire at those on horseback with great effect.

Finding that her ammunition was finished, Faith turned over to reload. As she did so, she noticed an Indian hurrying towards the horses. Faith guessed at once that he was going to let them all go so they would be stranded. She called Jacob's attention to it and he fired. The Indian fell dead.

Before Faith could continue firing, she perceived an Indian grab hold of Liberty's bridle and begin mounting her. Although she was near panic, she took careful aim and fired. The Indian fell off, but Liberty was untied and began prancing about the circle of wagons, trying to find a way out from all the noise. Faith knew that she would try to jump, so she hurried out from underneath the wagon and ran toward her. Regardless of all the action around her, she reached Liberty and, taking her bridle, Faith tied her to the nearest wagon. As she turned to return to the safety of the wagon, she was startled to find an Indian standing behind her. Faith cringed when she recognized Otsego. He smiled an almost toothless grin as he seized her by both arms and started to turn away. Faith screamed. He was trying to make her a captive. She attempted to wiggle loose. Then she remembered the gun that she had thrust into her pocket as she went after Liberty. She tried to reach for it, but the Indian only grasped her tighter as he lifted her off the ground. He then turned to leave the circle of wagons...

WHAT A GOOD BOOK!5
"Journey of Faith" is a wonderful story richly based on Christian values and Godly principals. Told in a fashion similar to the Little House Books, the author takes the reader to a time and place far removed from today's selfish society and illustrates through example how one can simply follow the teachings of Christ. This book is mostly light-hearted and seemingly carefree, but McCurdy will surprise you with twists and turns that you will not expect. Filled with family devotions, an Indian attack, horseback riding, and a ruthless band of outlaws, Journey of Faith is sure to delight readers of all ages. An excellent family read."

WONDERFUL BOOK!!5
SUPER JOB!!! I really felt like I was in the story not reading the book. (Until my neck started hurting!) Again, I could tell that Katie worked and planned the whole thing out. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who likes reading! I also liked the relationship between Faith and Ben Martin. Both the Rattlesnake and the kidnapping stories where very interesting and exciting parts! I think the family is a lot like yours, (I know you planned that, but I think you did a great job with it.) So over all I thought it was a wonderful book, I really enjoyed it! And I am looking forward to the next one! GREAT JOB, KATIE!!

Faith Martin lives close to her faith:5
Katie is a fine author with her book: Journey of Faith.
Faith Martin is very anxious as her family moves from the only home she knows for the wilds of Wyoming. She is a true pioneer girl who is sure and strong in what she knows and believes. Her family is her focus and she is strong in the times of trials and tribulations that she experiences. As I got to know the characters I felt like they were people that I knew that were strong in their faith. (Their very names also reflect those values.) When times grew tough, Faith rose to the occasion and she is a great role model for our age: today.

There must be a great deal of Katie in the "Faith" character! She has a big future ahead of her and she is quite insightful in writing her book. You feel like that you are really the in the time and place that you are visiting. Our future is great as we have people like her to become our future leaders, and members of our society. Read her book and you will be looking forward to her next works. She portrays proper family values, and by living in harmony by living close to the Lord.

This book is good for all ages, and is suitable for libraries, public and home schools. I look forward to reading this book to my grand daughters, Hailey and Zoe when they come to visit soon. Your children, and you yourself, as an adult will enjoy this interesting story.
