About the Author
Author Robert P. Ledermann, a lifelong Chicago resident, has selected a variety of images that highlight the local history of State Street. As a retired credit manager, he was also associated with the Illinois Retail Merchants Association and was a member of the Greater State Street Council, now the Chicago Loop Alliance. Besides these two books, his articles have appeared in various magazines. He is the local authority on the
Marshall Fields characters Uncle Mistletoe and Aunt Holly. Today he still enjoys researching Chicago’s exciting history.
