About the Author
Most residents of northern Vancouver Island and the Central Coast are familiar with Bill Proctor, who has lived in the area for more than 60 years. After spending most of his life fishing, trapping and logging, Proctor has in the last 10 years become a passionate environmental activist.
Yvonne Maximchuk, who accompanied Bill Proctor to his trapline and fishing grounds, is an artist, writer and naturalist. Maximchuk and her husband, a fisherman, make their home in Echo Bay. She says living there is like going camping and never having to go home.

Anyone with a sailboat on Puget Sound, WA and an urge to explore north into B.C. will find this book a treasure trove of information on the Broughton Archepelago area of Johnstone Strait. Well written by a man who was raised up there.
