Wholesome, Innocent, Sensual and Sexy All at the Same Time
There was a time, before pantyhose, when a woman's legs wrapped in nylon, were magnets for men's eyes. not that they aren't now, men still look, they always will, but nylons, with that line down the back of the leg and the darker band at the top and a hint of garters, wow! Also, back then, in those days pre Wonder Bra and breast augmentations, there were pinup girls and there were paintings of pinup girls. And the best of these artists who painted pinup girls was Gil Elvgren. His girls, those beauties he painted, somehow managed to look wholesome, innocent, sensual and sexy all at the same time. And his paintings really show just how beautiful a woman's legs were/are when they're incased in nylons, especially when you can see those garters. I know, I know, pantyhose are more comfortable, garters are cumbersome, awkward and uncomfortable, yes they are. But they sure as heck used to make a woman's legs look good. I think so anyway. I also think that this book would make a wonderful addition to any coffee table.

Elvgren is a master
This book has a short introduction to the artist and then jumps quickly into 16 large, color plates featuring some of Gil's best. A great book to get some excellent examples of his work.
