Customer Reviews

Great narration from Hidoka, wish there was more.4
If you're a fan of the Guilty series thus far, I'd highly recomend this novel.

For some reason, Amazon shipped me this volume before the third one so I ended up reading this novel anyways.

In terms of sequence, it didn't effect the story at all. Definitely the reader would need to read the first 2 volumes first though.

I enjoyed this book, even though it was a collection of short stories interspersed around various sequences from the other novels. And it also had narrations from other point of views like Hidoka and Toya's boss, Makihara. I wish these short stories would have been part of the earlier novels because it would have lightened Hidoka's cynical persona to the reader.

[Spoilers if you haven't read the first 3 volumes yet]

Story 1: Precious Love - This story takes place immediately after the events of the first book where Toya goes to retrieve the book that started their whole affair. However, Hidoka is continually holding the book hostage even after both have confessed their love in Vol 1.

Story 2: Felony - This story takes place approximately after Hidoka and Toya have been together 6 months. It's a short but brief story highlighting Toya's continual mistunderstanding of Hidoka. Amano makes an appearance here as well.

Story 3: A Modest Wish - This short story highlights Makihara's memory about how he assigned Toya to Hidoka originally and his thoughts on Hidoka's and Toya's relationship.

It's too bad that the author didn't have more of Hidoka's narration in the previous novels because it would have made the story more romantic. He really does come off like an awkward jerk in the previous novels, but in these series of short stories he really is a kind but inept social person.

The Guilty - Can Never Go Wrong5
This is a very smexy book. hot and steamy. just remembering it, i have to fan myself! This series is to die for, a must read for any Yaoi Fan. this is not a manga but a Yaoi Novel. well worth the read.

Let Down on the Rest of the Series2
I bought and highly anticipated volume 4 but sadly I was disappointed.I won't give spoilers but I will just say if you don't buy this volume you won't be missing a thing,it's mostly side stories and filler. If you have read the first 3 volumes you already Hodaka is anti-social,hard to get along with but truthful. In volume 4 you would hope that Toya would get pass calling his lover Sir and Mr. all the time but unfortunately all you get is how Hodaka's books are selling and Toya's editing is going.I feel honestly the author didn't know how to concluded the series,if you have read the 3 previous volumes you know that Hodaka's not going to be all over-emotional and lovey-dovey but I was at least expecting a happy medium like they would finally move in together. If you are like me and get upset when series doesn't end correctly or just leaves you dangling with no conclusion at all, please save your money use your imagination and volume 3 to finish the series.
