Product Description

The 2010 EDIBLES calendar includes photographs by award winning photographer Robert Kaufman. The EDIBLES calendar includes fine art photographs of fruits and vegetables as they are found around the world. Each photograph captures the colors and textures of the produce as seen in natural light and each month offers a news and exciting image that will make your mouth water. The calendar has been selected as one of the best calendars of the year by the Today Show, Epicurious.com and more. It is the ideal calendar for any lover of food, photography or fine art. It adorns the wall of any kitchen with its strong colors and graphic images. No matter how many years Robert Kaufman has been producing the calendar it never gets old. Each year offers new and more exciting images. The calendar is 12 x 24" open and has 12 full color photographs. The grid on each month offers large boxes so that the calendar is not only beautiful it is functional as well. There is plenty of room to write in appointments and other important dates. Moreover the calendar is printed on high quality paper stock. Since the EDIBLES calendar has been continuously published since 1978 it has obviously stood the test of time. Many of its customers have been purchasing the calendar for 20 and 30 years and write to say they cannot imagin a year without the calendar on their wall. While EDIBLES was published long before healthy eating was in vogue it continues to reinforce the notion that food produced in the garden is the food we need to eat to remain healthy and vital. While other calendars try and imitate the EDIBLES calendar, none can compare because the EDIBLES calendar is the only calendar of its kind that only offers Robert Kaufman's photography.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author
Robert Kaufman has been a photographer since 1968. In the mid 70s while living in California he discovered the beauty of nature's bounty, fruits and vegetables, and started to photograph them in his unique and sensuous way. In 1978 he published the EDIBLES calendar for the first time and has been producing it ever since. Both his images and his calendar have received accolades and awards from far and wide. He has brought the beauty of these everyday items to hundreds of thousands of viewers. Although EDIBLES has been very successful Robert Kaufman has been photographing a wide variety of topics for a wide variety of clients. In addition to his corporate, editorial and advertising clients, in the early 80s Robert Kaufman began publishing his photographs on greeting cards and posters. His images were distributed worldwide. His images were always commercially successful because of Kaufman's strong eye and graphic images. It was always easy to identify a Kaufman card because his images always stood out among the other products in the displays. Kaufman was encouraged to add to the line of cards by offering more calendar titles so he created a full line of calendar with his images exclusively. These calendars included Italy, France, New England, flowers, cats, dogs, beaches, Jewish traditions and much more. Again these images were distributed and sold worldwide. In the early 90s Kaufman was commissioned to produce a coffee table book of Massachusetts that was so well received it completely sold out. Simultaneously with his publishing efforts Kaufman worked for numerous magazines and corporate clients including working with Japanese fruit packagers. He has photographed, designed and created corporate marketing materials as well as helping to create or redefine clients' corporate identity. He has won numerous photography awards and has shown his work in galleries and museums shows over the years. Always seeking new challenges Robert Kaufman began selling his fine art photography to corporations, hotels and restaurants throughout the country. He has created commissioned pieces that hang in the finest hotels and restaurants. As an engineer by training and an early career in computers, Robert Kaufman was ready when the world went digital. He is now a master at using the new technology to create art from his own images for the 21st century. His digital images have been selected as part of museum juried shows. Kaufman's photography career has spaned many years and it can be seen in all of his work whether color or black and white, fine art or commercial, product photography or portrait. Photography is Kaufman's passion and it shows in all the work he produces.
