Recycling old jewelry as a hobby requires a good imagination and a large stash of material. Hanna has both, as evidenced in these projects, mostly for necklaces. Users will need to substitute their own found objects, but this book is a rich source of ideas. -- Library Journal, Jun 2009
About the Author
Amy Hanna has been creating and selling jewelry for nearly a decade. A collector at heart, Amy began haunting flea markets and yard sales more than 20 years ago, and it was always the vintage jewelry, metals, and rosary beads that caught her eye. Her collections lay in drawers and vintage jewelry boxes for years until a friend encouraged her to create. Unable to find jewelry that represented her personal style, Amy began making one-of-a-kind pieces from her beloved collections.

Rejuvenated Jewels, is a book you will be reaching for again and again, not only to drool over the creations but to get inspiration from them as well. In the into the author wrote "A friend asked me what did I want to share with my readers ? Did I want this book to teach people how to wire wrap? No. Did I want this book to teach people to use their creativity, to not be afraid to take chances and to believe in themselves? YES!" And that is what this book does.
The instructions are written clearly to help beginners enough to get through the projects but also keep the experienced jewelrymakers inspired as well. Because all of the projects use vintage pieces, you probably won't be able to do an exact replica of any project. Fear not, Amy offers places to search for treasures as well as alternative material suggestions if you can't find the exact item she uses in a project.
This is a gorgeous and inspiring book for jewelry makers who love vintage and using antique/vintage supplies.

A visually inspiring treat!
This book is by far the most visually inspiring book I have ever owned. Not only is the instruction clear in regards to the pieces created, but the antiques used and pictures alone are so unique. It brings back so much nostalgia. I would recommend it to artists and non-artists alike. There is so much stored up in this treasure of a book!
