Product Description
Avatar Dawn: Crisis In Asia is set in Southeast Asia in April-May 1965. This was a time of enormous strife with the Vietnam War starting to dominate the reportable activities in that part of the world. In the surrounding areas, lesser known events were taking place at a time when colonial rule by the French and British was ending and the Communist threat of the Domino Theory was ever mindful to American leaders. Not unlike Europe during World War II, Asia again took a back seat to NATO, but the threat there was just as real. It was a troubled time of Communist insurgency, of mutual loathing between Hindu and Moslem and of hostile aggression towards Westerners. The story, or in this case, stories take place in Bangkok, Singapore, Djakarta, and the mountainous region just inside Burma. It involves adventure, intrigue and concludes a four-book series of one man\'s experiences.

About the Author
Bill Person, Captain, USAF. AFROTC, North Texas State, Pilot Training Class 60-F. Served at a radar station in New Mexico until selected in October 1962 to serve as liaison between Strike Command and USAF Security Service intercept site at Key West during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Granted a high level clearance for access to codeword material and then after an intensive Communications/ Signals Intelligence School, officer was assigned to the 6986th Radio Security Group at Wakkanai Air Station, Japan from August 1963 to May 1965. This secret radio listening post on the northern tip of Hokkaido was a hotbed location for peering behind the iron curtain to spy on the Russians. Soviet space activities, ICBM tests that pose a thermonuclear threat to the heartland of America, hostile MiGs and SAMs reacting to unarmed ferret flights, intrigue, even romance that made the futons in a cold place warmer in the midst of a cold war; it’s all here.
