Wildsmith impresses us again! His exuberantly colored animals cavort across the pages. Children will enjoy learning to count and to recite the names of the animals.

Customer Reviews

Nice little book5
Just to clarify, the first reviewer is mistaken. There is no grammar in this book (and therefore no grammar mistakes) and the translations are good. The book has 10 different painting of groups of animals (1 monkey, 2 deer, 3 [large] mice, etc.). Each painting has the arabic numeral (the numbers are never spelled out) and the name of the animal (e.g. 1 Macaco, 2 Cervos, 3 Ratões, etc.). That's it.

I ordered it hoping to use it in a middle school Portuguese class that I am teaching, but the book itself is VERY small (I did not look at the dimensions listed here on amazon.com--check them out), and some of the pictures are a little hard to make out at a distance (one of the mice is hidden pretty well). It would be great for a toddler learning to count in Portuguese, however. According to the back cover of the book, this is exactly what it is intended for (I am giving it 5 stars because it does exactly what it says it will).

Overall, a nice little book, just not what I needed. Hope this helps! :)

ps - Also, I was just a little disappointed that the beavers and squirrels on the front cover (which is what convinced me to buy it--they are very cute) do not show up in the book at all. There are some very cute foxes, however. :)

A great little book - my kids love it!5
This is a lovely little gem of a book that helps me teach my kids my 1st language, Portuguese, while engaging them in a visually stimulating and very creative world. I look forward to discovering more of Wildsmith's books.

Brian Wildsmith's Quantos Animais Sao?1
I purchased this for my Grandson (2 yrs old) whose Dad is Brazillian. The Dad looked at the book and said that only a couple of the words were correct translation. And the grammar was very poor and not what would be normally spoken in Brazil. He is a language teacher.

The pictures were great!

They threw the book away.
