Customer Reviews

sufficient for passing exam5
I had purchased a couple other exam prep resources besides this particular one, but I decided in the end to only rely on Rita's CAPM prep book. Yes, I did read the PMBOK and had class training on the PMP concepts (quite some time ago), so I already had a good understanding of the project management concepts, but this book hit the mark 100% on how the CAPM exam was going to approach the questioning. I took the CAPM and passed it on the first try after a few days of cramming with her book. I could not have done it by prioritizing according to the contents of the PMBOK materials - her book really did focus on the what the exam focused on. What the exam emphasizes and what one thinks might be emphasized, due to only reading the PMBOK, are completely different animals.

Great CAPM prep material5
Even if it is not recommended to use only one training and study material to apply to any of the PMI's exams, this is really a complete and usefull book. It covers all the Knowledge areas, processes, tool and techniques needed not only to present the exam, but also to help you in your Project Management career. It has some exercises along the way, assestment tools, and a set of exam simulation questions.
It really gets you up to speed to do the CAPM exam, and it is the latest revised version, based on the PMBOK 3rd edition.
I recommend to use this along Rita's own exam simulation software, and some other books, like PMP in Depth (from Paul Sanghera), wich is also great, and reading the PMBOK.

The PMBOK Guide in Plain English4
Anyone who's flicked through a chapter of the Guide to the Project Managmeent Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) for the first time will find their eyes glazing over - it's quite hard going! This book is a good way to make sense of the Guide in preparation for the CAPM exam. I would recommend reading the chapters in this book to get an overview of a topic, before reading the corresponding topic in the PMBOK Guide for greater detail.
