We are always curious and fascinated as to how the "other half" lives. What kind of furniture do Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor have in their Hollywood home? Is Ralph Lauren's Montauk compound English country-style or modern rustic? How does Roberto Cavalli entertain at his medieval villa near Florence?
So Chic answers these questions and unveils the beautiful and luxurious homes of these trendsetters. This gorgeously illustrated book presents a rare glimpse into the world of high-style interiors and offers up an impressive array of the ravishing homes ranging in locale from Manhattan to Marrakech to Malibu. Get an exclusive peek into: * Sarah Jessica Parker's 19th century farmhouse in Bridgehampton * Leonardo Ferragamo's mansion outside of Florence * Liza Bruce's vibrant apartment in exotic Jaipur * Donatella Versace's magnificent duplex in Milan * Muriel Brandolini's Upper East Side townhouse in New York City * Michael Smith's Bel Air house
From a hacienda in Hollywood to a bohemian loft in Manhattan's West Village, these envy-inspiring rooms will captivate and transport you into a world filled with glamour, decadence and grand opulence.

An Instant Classic
SO CHIC! This book is destined to enter the pantheon of cult design books. Like a sublime combination of Architectural Digest's Celebrity Homes from the 80s and Vogue's Book of Houses, Gardens, and People from the 60s, SO CHIC is full of choice interiors from today's tastemakers. I love the range of this book--featuring everything from the over-the-top confection of Kenneth Jay Lane's Orientalist Napoleon III-esque apartment to the understated perfection of Ralph Lauren's beach house--there is something for every design persuasion!
One of the best
As usual Margaret Russell's discerning eye and ability to procure the worlds truly fantastic interiors rings through in this collection of favorites from past issues of "Uber Chic" shelter magazine Elle Decor.
Divided in to three sections, Interior Design and Architecture, Fashion and Style and Art and Culture, the homes showcased are creativity at it's best. The book is truly curated, each grouping of interiors feeling so connected to the book as a whole but so incredibly individual. Something for every one.
Good but not Great!
When I saw the front cover of this book, esp. on Vogue magazine, it was very appealing. They are smart that they picked the best looking interior to feature on their cover. Elle Decor so chic, true, but not for long. You may get a little inspiration and maybe a little wow factor when you first flip through couple of pages, but not for long you will find it that the interiors soon become very similar. It is all the same setup, layout, furniture choices (lots of Chinoiserie and Hollywood Regency), and color schemes. I actually find it much more inspiring to read House and Garden UK version. I've seen too many of these kind of stuff and I am expecting something a little more bold and daring.
