Featuring two PsyCop novels, Among the Living and Criss Cross, this volume will leave you on the edge of you seat, wanting more! In Among the Living, Victor is a PsyCop, also known as a member of the Paranormal Investigation team. He's not popular with the living, as most people consider him a little odd, but the ghosts of violent crimes can't wait to tell him all about their deaths. His new case pairs him with Jacob, a non-psychic who works in sex crimes. Victor and Jacob have a history, and as they and work together to solve a set of serial crimes, they begin to explore the possibilities of a future. The case is like nothing they've ever experienced, and soon Victor finds that he's the only one who can solve the crime, and save Jacob's life. If he's not too late. In Criss Cross, Vic figures life is pretty good. He's got his lover, Jacob. He's got some time off to go fishing, and his new partner in the Paranormal Investigation Team buys the coffee. Naturally, nothing that good can last. When Vic starts to see ghosts everywhere, things go very wrong, resulting in a trip to his doctor, who says he's got problems. Vic's friends tell Jacob he has to leave for Vic to get better, sex is starting to get dangerous, and Vic's abilities are getting out of hand. Can he and Jacob figure out what's happening in time to save Vic from becoming a pawn in a dangerous game?

Not just a M/M romance!
This is not the usual M/M which focuses merely on the romance and angst. "PsyCop:Partners" which deals with the supernatural and the spiritual has a well developed, suspenseful and exciting plot. Both times (this story was originally published as 2 separate e-books), I was kept late into the night finishing it. From murders to incubus to dead people popping up nearly everywhere to possession, these 2 stories kept me at the edge and I am glad to get them combined in print
The couple are easily likable characters. Victor, the psyCop, who "sees dead people" is endearing. He may be psychic but he is also a very ordinary guy just trying to live a life. Half the times he is in a haze as he is constantly on drugs to keep his psychic power at a tolerable level just to be sane. It is most amazing that Victor manages to develop a relationship with Jacob, another psyCop, who is normal. In their cop world, each cop with psychic power has to partner another without to sort of balance out the stress.
Jacob, the handsome hunk, is very protective over Victor (Victor certaintly needs it) and it is wonderful to read the strengthening of their love over the 2 stories.
Psycop is well written and pretty effective as it is told from the first person's (Victor's) view. It is easy to sympathize with Victor as he is haunted by the dead and used as a medium.
The plot is not consumed by sex but when the sex happens it is erotic and Victor's final surrender to Jacob is intimately hot.
Hope this is a series and certainly look forward to more from this writer and the couple.
Wonderful series!
This series has a fascinating premise that realistically blends the supernatural with the everyday--I found it very easy to suspend disbelief and enter this world. Price has a real talent for creating interesting, likeable characters, and manages a balanced and satisfying blend of mystery, action, suspense and romance. I love Price's writing and would strongly recommend this item to anyone interested in crime drama, supernatural mystery or homoerotic romance--I don't think you'll be disappointed!
an entertaining read
I liked these two novels. Both in one book and both about the same character, Victor Bayne, who is unlucky enough to see the dead every where he turns. At the same time he is lucky enough to find a gorgeous and protective detective as back up when his original partner retires. Jacob Marks is Victor's second "Stiffie", or non-psychic partner, though really there are others who are also 'partners', but Jacob is the real partner both on and off the job. To be honest, I liked the first story better than the second, but both were good enough to read for a relaxing paranormal evening at home. I was entertained by Victor's somewhat quirky personality, definitely a man with more than one problem. I even wished the stories were longer. Oh, and there was sex, too.
