There actually is no naked killer in Naked Killer, but that's about all this mad, adults-only comic book action roller coaster is missing. Flirty, feral Chingmy Yau gives an abusive jerk an impromptu vasectomy in front of cop Simon Yam, an impotent detective who vomits whenever he draws his gun. He's tracking a series of sex murders where all the male victims are missing their private organs when he falls in love with chief suspect Chingmy. She's subsequently recruited by the real killer, a hit woman who targets rapists at large and practices on drooling sex-mad psychos chained up in the attic. When they finally head out for the real thing, they take out victims in a display of midair somersaults, cracking whips, flying ropes, and flashing guns. This kind of foreplay attracts the lustful attentions of rival assassin Carrie Ng, a lesbian killer ready to abandon her purring sex kitten for the savage Chingmy. This is one of the most energetically gonzo Hong Kong logic bombs ever made, a crazy melodrama that revels in absurd extravagance, sick humor (you may never eat link sausage again), and pure adrenaline-driven displays of gymnastic action and orgiastic gunplay. Possibly the best of HK Cat3 babes w/guns movies.
Standard martial arts movie plot: talented but unschooled natural meets wise master, enters arduous training, but master is suddenly killed by rogue former student, and natural must seek vengence...

Except those involved are lesbian Chinese killer babes. Very stylish, funny, charmingly mis-anthropic (main male character is impotent cop, who throws up at sight of gun!).

The DVD seems to have a few more scenes than the World Video VHS, and much better subtitling, which is important, since the subtitles are hilarious ("I'll burst your tits!"). Highly reccomend for fans of genre. Pub shots from this movie on cover of "Essential Guide to Deadly China Dolls."

An Overrated Cult Favorite
"Naked Killer" is an outrageously trashy yet derivative Hong Kong action-thriller for the "Basic Instinct" crowd. The movie has its legion of admirers, but this sort of kinetic mayhem was better served by filmmakers such as John Woo and Tsui Hark. Caveat emptor!

Good Picture Quality... but Incomplete
I have seen the movie a few times and in my opinion this DVD edition is the best in term of picture quality. Unfortunately it is incomplete. Murder scene in the swimming pool is heavily cut (is it too violent?)
