Starting around Halloween 4, that masked nut Michael Myers stopped chasing his sister (played by Jamie Lee Curtis in the first and second films, as well as Halloween H20) and went after his niece. Now he's chasing her around again in part 5, but it's a lot of other people who die in the process. Donald Pleasence continues his mad-doctor bit from the earlier movies, Danielle Harris is the unfortunate relation, and Donald L. Shanks plays the monster. The film is an improvement on parts 2 and 4 (part 3 having nothing to do with Michael Myers), but it still amounts to routine slaughter with none of John Carpenter's stylistic brilliance from the original movie. --Tom Keogh

Halloween 5 Divimax Edition!
The first time I watched Halloween 5 (being it as the first Halloween movie I saw) I was home alone and my mother was at the store. Watching Michael go after Jamie, I was scared as Hell. Seeing that it was Halloween 5 I thought, there must be more sequels. My mind wanted more Michael, so I snuck and watched all of the Halloween movies. My favorite was Halloween 4 which is also coming out on Divimax edition. But, I really liked Halloween 5. I think the scariest was Halloween 5. I am very happy that they're making a Divimax Edition with behind-the-scenes and the Theatrical Trailer. I am a very big fan of Michael and I think this is his scariest work. I could just imagine how scard Jamie was when Michael is chasing her in a car down a corn field. I could just imagine how scard Jamie would be when she is climbing up a vent, having a butcher knife stabbed through it. This movie is a little simular to Halloween Ressurrection, having jumpy teens in it. But, in this one, the jumpy teens have a purpose but in Halloween Ressurrection, they don't. This movie (I think) is a pretty good sequel to Halloween 4, being very scary.

Overall grade* A-
Oh, if you're a fan of Michael like I am, then you must know they're making a Halloween 9. If you go onto the official website, Halloweenmovies or the imdb, you can find some news about it. Here's some news: Rob Zombie is writing and directing the movie and the movie will be a sequel/prequel. Excited about how it's going to turn out!
Halloween 5, the somewhat slow, but still EXCELLENT movie!
Halloween 5, The Revenge of Michael Myers, is among the best in the series, if you're a Halloween nut like me. With the exception of part III, the entire series graces my video collection, and I display it proudly. I was disappointed to see Rachel die so early in the movie, but at least we had Jamie and Loomis to move the story along. Donald Pleasance seems to have changed his approach to stopping Michael in this movie, trying to reach the 6-yr-old boy buried beneath the madness that makes Michael a killer, rather than killing The Shape. Danielle Harris again gives an excellent performance as Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter, although I did think the entire mute thing was stretching credibility just a bit. The two self-described lousy cops added the perfect amount of humor, especially with the goofy sound effects heard whenever they show up, until Michael hacked 'em with a pitchfork. The only thing I disliked about this movie was the transformed Myers house. At times, the movie moves somewhat slowly, such as in the barn, or when Jamie's in the laundry chute, but Halloween 5 does an excellent job of continuing the story begun in Halloween 4 and sets up the storyline for Halloween, The Curse of Michael Myers. By the way, if they release the alternate cut of Curse on video or DVD, please tell me!
Whats in the DVD
Halloween is the best horror movie series. This DVD will be perfect even if it only included the High Def transfers. I hope they are working on the Blu-Ray Halloweens.
