Product Description

Ban Wang Hai is a necropolis in the Chiang Mai-Lamphun basin. The cemetery was accidentally discovered in 1986, and the following year archaeologists from the Fine Arts Department of Thailand opened up two trial excavations, digging up skeletons, ceramic fragments, adornments, and tools of stone and iron. A total of seven excavation sites have since been opened in the area. The find appears to date back to the first millennium A.D., and some of the ceramic pieces have been identified as Haripunchai.

This archaeological study gives a careful technical report of the excavations and findings. The sites, graves, skeletons, and artifacts are described and analyzed in detail, accompanied by precise color drawings and photographs.
