Customer Reviews
"Linus & Lucy" is worth 3 stars alone!
When I first heard "Linus & Lucy", I was blown away and I remember frantically searching the music shop for any cd that had David Benoit's version of "Linus & Lucy" on it and I found this. Although describing this as a jazz cd would probably be insulting the purists especially as B.B. King plays some good blues on the second track but this pop cd with heavy "jazz" (ala Spyro Gyra-esque)influences is really very nice.
It's at quite a good length and although not remastered, sounds pretty good too which is what one expects from a GRP album anyways. A real feel-good cd for me and definitely one of my favourites. Vince Guaraldi was really a brilliant composer and "Linus & Lucy" will probably remain a popular favourite for years to come.
Don't judge a book by its cover; this album has good jazz
Don't let the innocent cover fool you. There are some very fine moments on this album. "The Great Pumpkin Waltz" is the highlight of the album. But the album loses a star because of the Kenny G track.
An all time favorite since the day I first heard it
I have bought this album so many times it just blows my mind. Yet for some reason I keep having to buy it over again. It seems to be an all time favorite of just about everyone that I let listen to it or borrow it, as it never quite seems to make it's way back to me. But that's ok as I'm glad to be able to share it, I would recommend it to any one interested in jazz, both adults and children alike.
