Customer Reviews
An exellent selection of traditional Turkish music
I'm from Bulgaria myself, and I'm already familiar with the Turkish styles, since our music has been influenced by the Turkish for centuries. I believe the musicians , performing on this CD are among the best musicians of all time - it's a music that will always worth. It's just pure music!
An old favorite returns
This seemed to be unavailable for quite some time. I had given up on finding a CD of this, but it is available again! It sets a mood like no other. A little surface noise on old recordings is something to cherish, not avoid; it simply adds to the very creepy and intriguing ambience you get when you play this, and does not hide the brilliance of the vocal and instrumental performances. And I just discovered that there is a Vol. 2, which makes my day.
This is a must if you enjoy turkish music.
I have traveled to Turkey many times and have enjoyed their culture and music. I would suggest this particular selection. It contains much of the older music which does seem to have some scratchy sounds in the beginning but does clear up shortly afterwards.
