Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com essential recording
When you play this CD's title cut to a preschool class, you'll immediately know by the wild gales of laughter followed by multiple requests to "play it again!" that you have a hit on your hands. The wonderful visuals of "cheese walking on its knees" and "beans trying on some jeans," inspired by Raffi's lyrical adaptation of the traditional tune, are sure to tickle young funny bones. Children will also enjoy adding their own verses to the menu of "Going on a Picnic," steppin' high with "There Was a Girl from France," and clapping along with Raffi's cover of the Woody Guthrie animal dance tune, "Jig Along Home." --Deborah Moore
Customer Reviews
Five year old's favorite. Great for adults, too.
We just bought this CD for our five year old, and it's now her favorite Raffi CD. This CD is a little more up-tempo than the first two. This is great music for kids and adults. It never gets old, and I find myself singing along, too. Ha ha!
We love all our Raffi CD's, and Raffi's stuff is far superior than the other commecial stuff, like Barney and Disney.
If you have a chance to see him in concert, do it. We did a few years ago, and it was really great. Check out the Raffi in Concert CD.
Oh Please
To the previous reviewer: This IS music for a nursery! And Frere Jacques, very loosely translated is: "Brother Jack, are you sleeping? Come on it is morning."
I love Raffi and I don't even HAVE a nursery. I buy them for every little kid I know so when I go to their house I can listen, too! This is a particularly good Raffi CD and contains one of my favourites, "My Way Home". Only the Baby Beluga album is better than this one, although "Bananaphone" is worth the purchase simply for the song "Bananaphone".
Silly, Happy Classics!
My children have listened to this CD for years and still play it. It's great for toddlers to second grade kids and adults. You will get your money's worth. Many of the songs are very funny. Some are just happy tunes that remind me of the better days of being a child. I like this CD. My children love it. All of the songs are great. I would call it a carefully made collection of likeable classics. Thank you Raffi!
This is a classic!
