Charles Brown is responsible for one of the bluesiest Christmas tunes ever, "Please Come Home for Christmas." Countless individuals and groups have covered this heartbreak classic because it so readily embraces the theme of being home for the holidays with loved ones. Brown's golden hit is just one of the highlights on his 1994 Christmas album, along with "Merry Christmas, Baby," a blues tune almost as popular as "Please Come Home for Christmas." I have something like a hundred Christmas albums (it's a hobby) and this one is right at the top of the pile.

It's great. Certainly one of the coolest Christmas albums ever.

I am a huge fan of Christmas Jazz and Blues. This is a standout recording by a great artist. His thoughtful phrasing and warm voice and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. One of my favorite holiday albums!
