To millions, Eddy Arnold's name is practically synonymous with tradition, a spirit that infuses this collection of familiar carols. Mixing the sacred and secular, Eddy envelops listeners in his soothing baritone on such venerable songs as "One Christmas Eve Long Ago" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas." Even though the backing tracks can tend to be a bit schmaltzy, Eddy's voice usually cuts through, whether it's soaring in faith (as on "O Come All Ye Faithful") or winking in friendliness ("Here Comes Santa Claus"). Christmas Time goes down real smooth, but leaves no aftertaste whatsoever. --David Sprague

A Warm Christmas Sound
This selection of Christmas music, by Eddy Arnold, is a warm, heartfelt, smooth and gentle presentation of the Christmas spirit. "Put a Ribbon in Your Hair" speaks of the love between a man and a woman which gives Christmas a meaning that transcends all commercial considerations. "Christmas Can't Be Far Away" is a sentimental presentation of the Christmas tradition which has almost left us, but which Eddy brings back with his warm and gentle voice. And so with all the music on this CD. Eddy puts a warm heartfelt feeling into Christmas with his unique approach to a song. If you want to really feel what's important about Christmas, Eddy Arnold, in this CD, will give it to you as noone else can.
