mutilated songs
This CD is the most terrible CD I've ever bought! The originally beautiful russian songs and melodies are mutilated in a uncredible way.
Great Party Fun, don't take it too literally!
My friends and I always used to break this cd out during college parties as a sudden departure from the usual hip-hop that was playing and it would get rave reviews and curiously shocked faces. No, this is not a cd of Russian classics as they are meant to be played. Buy something else then. If you are looking for non-traditional and fun party music with an East Euro flair, this is your cd. The singers in this recording may be having TOO much fun!
Proletariats Rejoice! Such beautiful voices!!!
Only the Red Army Choir could do more justice to these famous songs! With credit to Ilya Kovelenko's famous rendition of the Seagull and Kalinka(not to mention his work in Khovanshchina), this still blows them away. When I first heard this cd, I had the good fortune of being north of the artic circle; I quickly stripped and jumped into the nearest salt water pool on the outpost. Awe inspiring, and in more ways than one, purely intoxicating music from the steppes of Mother Russia. 6 stars if it were possible. Stolichnaya 4 ever!!!! GET THIS CD!!! Then get inebriated like a proper Muscovite Vocaliste...
