There's an absolute dearth of this type of music available on record, and this CD almost hits the mark. for lovers of this genre. Being born a true "cockney",(within the sound of Bow bells, in the East End of London), I was totally enthused by the selection of songs. The chorus was absolutely perfect in it's enthusiastic renditions, the musical accompaniment was wonderfully authentic. My single problem with this disc was the lead singer. His accent was so "not cockney", (I'm not even sure from his pronunciation, that he was a "dyed in the wool" Brit). It's because he was the lead singer, I found his vocalizing most disturbing, and for me spoiled an almost wonderful recording. For those not having an "ear" for the "cockney accent", go for it! You'll find it lively, reminiscent of your time in "Good Olde London Towne", and truly a lot of fun to kick up your heels to. Sorry about that last dangling participle - didn't know how to avoid it!! Just consider yourself fortunate that I recognized a participle, especially when it's dangling. Buy the disc and Enjoy!
