Customer Reviews
I wish Xmas lasted all year...
...just so I could keep listening to this CD.
My wife and I have a holiday party each December, and this CD features prominently in our "Holiday Mix". It is a real mood setter that always grabs peoples' attention. Every year guests ask me what it is.
My favorite holiday music
I bought this album on a whim at a sale rack after Christmas. It was the best bargain I've ever found. It was my first introduction to Tuck Andress's jazz guitar, and I've been a fan ever since. The songs he selected, the talent he possesses, and the superb production value of this album makes it a must-have for everyone's holiday collection. I actually look forward to listening to it every holiday (and sometimes in between). Andress solo's his way through our favorite carols with a style and finesse that can soothe the weariest of souls during the most hectic time of year. My favorite is Little Drummer Boy, as he uses his guitar as a true percussive instrument. Ave Maria is played with beautiful emotive feeling. And get ready to sing-along to the most syncopated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer you've ever heard. (Check out his website for his own personal background on recording this album.) I play Hymns, Carols and Songs About Snow as background for guests, during gift-wrapping and just about every other holiday occasion. This makes a wonderful gift for anyone.
Fantastic solo jazz guitar Christmas album
I just heard this album for the first time tonight at my mom's house...all I can say is: WOW!
We had it on while putting up the tree and playing some family games. Everyone commented about how relaxing and yet captivating the tunes were. Overall - so carefully and craftully done -- it's a MUST for any Christmas get-together.
