Few if any musical genres remain that haven't met with attempts at kiddification, but it's a safe bet that reggae was among the first to be frittered down, and it must have been the first to spill from the speakers of Playskool boomboxes with anything resembling listener satisfaction. It's by far the most readily translatable, as 1993's bright and bouncy Reggae for Kids proved best, and its sequel, "More Reggae," turns up a fresh, if more dogma-heavy, batch of easily converted songs. The same gang of straight-outta-Kingston players steps up to perform them, too. Gregory Isaacs dips into "Day-O," Freddie McGregor stoops to send the message of "One Love," J.C. Lodge reminds us "What the World Needs Now," and Don Carlos gives the hey mon salute to the Beatles with "Hello Goodbye." Bunny Wailer and Brigadier Jerry also return, and a few originals--"Big Ship," "What About the Children," "School Done Rule"--get kids right with issues like tolerance, the environment, and the value of education. --Tammy La Gorce

Great fun; adults can listen for quite a while too!
While my husband tires of this one pretty fast, our son has liked this CD since about 8 months of age. We can put it on in the car, and he'll stop all his noise, even after he's really sick of being in the car. Best of all, the adults in the car can sing along and have fun, too.
Not as good for kids as I'd hoped
My rating solely reflects this CD's suitability for my 5-year old. While the artists are very talented and this is a good reggae CD, I was a bit disappointed that many of the songs are not true kids' songs, but reggae versions of adult songs. I had also hoped more of the songs would encourage my 5 year old to sing and interact with the music - but he does not like this CD as much as his other ones. If you are a big reggae fan, then I would recommend this CD. Otherwise, there are much better unique kids' CDs to buy.
Great Upbeat Album for Adults and Kids
I have enjoyed this record for 12 years, having purchased it 5 years before I had (or thought about having) kids, just because it looked cool and sounded interesting. I was not disappointed! I would pull this out to play for friends whenever I got the chance, and everyone loved it. With it's great rhyming and rhythm of favorite and new songs it's impossible to sit still, and just puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.
I now have kids, twins age 7, and it is their favorite album, they just love it. There are no inappropriate lyrics, and it's great to get them (and their parents) dancing. I would highly recommend it if you like reggae, and especially if you have children.
