A great CD - pure and simple Christmas music
Danny Wright is one of the most gifted musicians I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, and this disc is exceptional. Don't buy it if you're expecting Mannheim Steamroller-type arrangements. Wright's talent lies in his ability to play with a fluid, graceful style that emphasizes the music, not the musician. I've listened to this CD and cassette for 8 years (the cassette wore out after 6 years), and it still sounds as good as the first time I heard it. The best way to describe Wright's effort here? "Less is more" - simple piano tracks, minimalist production, pure, beautiful Christmas music. If you want great music for a holiday dinner party, background music, or you just love listening to a gifted pianist doing what he was born to do, then this CD is for you.
One of the Best!
Listening to this album reminds me of what I remember an old time Christmas to be, relaxed and carefree. I can picture myself sitting quietly reflecting on what really matters, family and friends. Danny has made this a timeless and valued CD in my collection. If you didn't pidgeon hole this music as being Christmas you could listen to this anytime of the year and I do. Enjoy!!
