Some underrated classics for a very nice price!
This is another great for the price Naxos CD which includes some very underrated pieces. The Wagenseil concerto is a real masterpiece. After hearing it on public radio, I was very surprised that it's not performed more often (perhaps overshadowed by the genius of Mozart). The slow movement of Krumpholtz's concerto will touch your heart and remind you of the composer's tragic life. Dussek's concerto, however, just doesn't feel very inspired.

The CD includes an interesting essay about the three composers, whose lives were interconnected. As far as the performance, the harp doesn't sound loud enough during the Wagenseil concerto in my humble opinion, but these not so famous musicians do a great job. The Harmonious Harp on the Deutsche Gramophone label also includes some wonderful harp music. If you love Haydn and Mozart, give these composers a chance!

Music for any occasion
The music from the three composers in this CD is the type of music that can be listened to either as serious classical listening, while relaxing, or as a background music while working, driving, etc. This music is in my opinion melodic, gentle, mellowing, enlightening and evoquing. The performing artists and the sound quality are fine. I recommmend buying this CD, you will be pleased with its contents.
