Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Although this collection does borrow a handful of tunes from A Motown Christmas, it actually betters its predecessor by cutting out some superfluous tracks and adding several stellar performances by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles--judged by many to be the label's greatest male vocal group. Smokey and company positively shimmer through their contributions, highlighted by "Away in a Manger" and a lovely rendition of the little-heard "Coventry Carol." The Temptations and Jackson 5 are also well represented here, as are Diana Ross & the Supremes, whose version of "O Little Town of Bethlehem" is heard for the very first time on this album. --David Sprague
