Customer Reviews

Bouncy, romantic Rock N Roll!5
The music in GREASE 2 is addictive. The soundtrack is full of catchy tunes that stay with you long after the film ends. The first track, BACK TO SCHOOL AGAIN, performed by the FOUR TOPS, is one of the best opening songs to a movie musical in recent decades. You just feel so cool as it jams along alternating between being sad summer's over, but happy to see your friends again.
SCORE TONIGHT, based around an all American bowling alley is a great group number, showcasing Lorna Luft's vocal talents. I sing it my mind when I've gone bowling and actually get more strikes!

COOL RIDER is sung by Michelle Pfeiffer and she really belts it out! People complain about her not having the vocal range of Olivia Newton John. WHO CARES? It's a kick . . . song that is tough and powerful. This is a girl who knows what she wants!

GIRL FOR ALL SEASONS is a harmless song, something out of a DORIS DAY musical!

DO IT FOR OUR COUNTRY is very funny although the soundtrack should have had the boy/girl duet as in the film. Apparently she couldn't make it to the recording session!

WHO'S THAT GUY was mysterious, and the rythmic base line in the back is very cool.

PROWLIN was the TBirds big number and it works great! Goofy fun because they think the're so great. Singing about hot chicks.

REPRODUCTION was comic genius! Anyone who didn't laugh has NO sense of humor! Sex education at its best. I thought TAB HUNTER not quite hitting the high notes was very funny and worked well.

CHARADES is a very under appreciated love ballad sung by Maxwell Caulfield about his secret identity dilemma. As a 16 year old gay male in 1982, I found the lyrics of a painful duality very touching. Listen closely to the words. Caulfield sings with passion.

LOVE WILL TURN BACK HANDS OF TIME was a duet with Michelle and Maxwell and although very lightweight, still romantic and fun.

ROCK A HULA LUAU was the end of the year number and has lots of energy!I love that that most of the songs included characters names as it made it more personal to the film.

WE'LL BE TOGETHER is a beautiful, slower romantic last track that wraps up the album. Leaves you feeling good and isn't that what music in a musical comedy are all about?

Fun to Listen to!4
I absolutely loved the movie "Grease 2" so when I heard the CD was available, I went ahead and bought it. All of the songs from the movie are of course there, sung by the stars. Before seeing the movie or listening to the CD, I didn't know that Michelle Pheiffer could sing! I'm glad I was wrong though. If you have the movie, or have seen it, then get this CD. You'll feel as though you're watching the movie all over again. Plus, it is just fun to listen to and sing along to!

a guilty pleasure3
GREASE 2 crashed and burned at the box-office, but has built up quite a cult following over the years. The story followed Sandy's intellectual cousin Michael (Maxwell Caulfield), as he attended Rydell High and fell helplessly in love with 'Pink Lady' Stephanie (Michelle Pfeiffer).

Essentially it was the same story as the original "Grease" but the roles were reversed - geeky Michael had to dumb himself down in order to win the affections of Stephanie.

The soundtrack of the film is a load of fun. Both Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer's singing is quite excellent; and the rest of the cast are clearly having a ball, too.

Lorna Luft is totally adorable with "Reproduction" and "Score Tonight"; not to mention the oh-so-cute "Girl for All Seasons" (the cheesy number that the Pink Ladies perform for the talent show). Michelle Pfeiffer sets the pulses racing with "Cool Rider", and later pulls at the heart-strings with "(Love Will) Turn Back the Hands of Time". Maxwell Caulfield is at his best with "Charades".

The soundtrack album faithfully recreates the numbers just like they are heard in the film - with one exception. Maureen Teefy was unable to make it to the recording session for "Do It for Our Country". Peter Frechette does his best, but the number was written as a duet and Teefy's performance in the film was priceless. I wonder why the duet could not have been lifted directly from the optical film soundtrack. Oh well.

For fans of GREASE 2, this soundtrack album is a smart buy...and at a sweet price, too.
