Featuring artists riding the crest of a new soundwave era, the New York illbient acts consisting of Sub Dub, DJ Spooky, Byzar, and We have been brought together by the Asphodel label to showcase their breathtaking sound pastiches. Fifteen of the most amazing illbient tracks blend seamlessly into one another, regardless of how disparate the elements, and their tastes intertwine in the mixing of their music. Remixed and laid out at Bloody Angle Studios under the supervision of Naut Humon, Incursions in Illbient establishes a new criterion for the creation of experimental assemblage music. --Ryan Kuykendall

Heavyee
This is the heaviest ambient dub record I have yet come across, and believe me, I've been looking. This is the bomb you want to get you through the workday.
eseential heaviness
the essential compilation to the short-lived illbient scene, an amazing murky wickedness that formed in NYC, then as quickly faded as soon as the name congealed. Just listen to the first track, there aren't many basslines anywhere more crusher than this one. Even though it is four different groups/artists, it's mixed continuously all the way through, a journey to be taken over and over again.
one of my favorite records ever, highest recommendation
