A pleasant taste of the Caribbean
The collection is very good with a pleasant mix of fast and slow. My only negative comment is that the sound quality is not the best it could've been. But for a great steel drum collection, it's excellent.

If you want to experience the pop and crackle of old vinyl, this is the rocording for you. This is clearly a poor job of analog to digital transfer. The music content is not too good either.

I really enjoy listening to this album any time. It lets me feel like I'm off on some tropical island enjoying a wonderful vacation. The whole family is there when I play it during dinner, and we all enjoy it. Fourth of July is also another Steel Drum holiday for us. It is a family favorite, and even family friends ask us where to get it when they first listen. Some people complain about audio quality, but it really is quite good, as the album portrays one of the first groups of the steel drum genre. You can't really tell the difference, and it is a very relaxing listen. If it hadn't been brought up here, I wouldn't have even noticed the slight difference in audio quality between this CD and other modern CDs. Overall, a great buy (who can beat the price!?) and a wonderful, invigorating listen. I've listened to many modern steel drum recordings, but I always come back to this one. There's just something about it that is much more original and wonderful than the new albums. If you want to experience the original, wonderful steel drum music performed by one of the original groups, purchase this album right away. You will not be disappointed!!!
