What the 80's were all about4
This album is what 80's music ia all about. Strong vocals, screaching guitars, and synthesizers. This was really the only BIG album Europe had but what a way to go. The Final Countdown is still played at countless sporting events. The ballad Carrie is a classic 80s ballad. Songs also off the album worth mentioning are, Cherokee and Rock the Night. Both strong singles. Sometimes compared to Bon Jovi the only resemblance is the hair. You could go and get Europes greatest hits CD but as far as I am concerned this is it. This CD has been said to saound like everything else produced from the 80's but it's more like everything else was produced to sound like this.

Brilliant title track, but rest of album is strong too5
This is definitely their best work, and one of my favourite hard rock albums of all time. I purchased the album for the title track only, and was pleasantly surprised to hear the rest of the album had decent tracks with intelligent lyrics and good hard tunes. "Rock The Night" is a definite winner, with "Danger On The Track" coming in close. All the tracks are reasonably radio friendly, and I would not really place this in the "heavy metal" genre. Anyhow, this is a definite buy - go and get it.

If you are new to Europe, expect male vocal hard rock, comparable with the early work of Jon Bon Jovi.

One of my fovrate metal bands5
This album has the rare distinction for me in that I enjoy all of the songs on it. The music has a good edge and is played with energy and excitement. For those who really like to rock, this is a good album to crank up. Most of the songs tell stories, some historical, and some fictional. My own favorite songs are, The Final Countdown, Ninja, and Cherokee.
