A Most Beautiful Collection5
This CD is one of the best recordings ever made. I first heard it over 13 years ago and even today it has retained it's beauty and expressiveness. The Concierto de Aranjuez(more specifically the Adagio) is one of the most wonderful and, not to be redundant, beautiful compositions from the 20th century if not ever. John Williams' performs it better than anyone I have ever heard record or perform it. He knows just the right tempos, colours and moods for the piece. It will make you cry. His playing is perfect. The Fantasia is another jewel by Rodrigo. It is more grandios than Aranjuez and based on melodies from the renaissance, but has a personality all it's own which is lively and elegant. The other pieces are solo works which are great pieces but belong on another album. All in all though, this a CD to put on and listen to for hour of enjoyment.

Best Rodrigo/Albeniz Recording Yet5
If you're looking for a great recording, you've come across a great classical find. John Williams (not the composer, but the guittarist) does a superb job playing the Spanish flavor of Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez." My favorite track was No. 5.

John Williams---something else.5
The first classical guitar album I bought was a Greatest Hits album of Williams that I picked up at the mall. On the way home, I listened to two songs. When I got into the driveway and stopped, "Astruias" finished up. I don't mind telling you that I actually started clapping. By myself. In my car. That is how good Williams is, and this is an amazing album. "Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez" is wonderful, even though I have heard it, and played it myself, over and over.

A true gift to those with any taste for music.
