John Barry fan
I remember watching this movie and hearing the instumental music for the first time. I instantly recognized the music and was drawn to it, like responding to the voice of a dear and long-time friend. I have been a fan of John Barry's music for awhile now, starting with the movie "Dances with Wolves", then discovering my favorite "Somewhere in time". Buy this CD, if only for the 25 minute insrumental suite by John Barry. It will stir your heart and soul. I look forward to hearing the rest of his music.
Compliments the Movie to the "T"
Well I have to say that it was John Barrys instrumental that made me buy this CD immediatley. I remember walking into a music store and they were playing the 25 min. suite I could not leave the store until the music was over, I knew immediatly that it was from this movie because I remember how poignant the music was. I was dissapointed in Sade "No Ordinary Love" was not on the CD but "If I'm not in love with you" as well as others made up for that omission. I have bought it several times over the past few years as gifts for friends that enjoy instrumental suites and have since researched and found John Barry's other collections such as; "Out of Africa", "Scarlet Letter" and "Somewhere in Time"
Happy Listening
every track is unskipable ,no need to program, just play!
This is one of those few alblums that you can stick on and enjoy from begining to end with no need to skip past songs you dont like, because theres none on it.I've had this C.D for years now and it is still one of my favorites. The 25min suite at the end is worth the price alone.I suggest you buy two because when a friend looks to borrow it you'll find it hard to part with it.
