5 Stars BASED ON ONE CUT!
Cut 6 (A medley of "Moonglow" and film composer's "Love Theme") is the highlight of the album. This is the music featured during the sensual dance between stars William Holden and Kim Novak.
My heart thumps when I hear it!
A faithful reissue
This s an exact replica of the 1956 LP soundtrack, only now it is in true stereophonic sound. George Duning's score is unique and sticks in the memory. The marriage of "Moonglow" and the "Love Theme" (from the dance scene) is a masterpiece and will stimulate in your mind the visuals which it accompanies. The sound is quite good considering the age of the tape masters.
pleasing in every way
I have seen the movie Picnic hundreds of times and love it as much now as when it was released. Part of the reason for enjoying the movie is the soundtrack. I own the original album and of course purchased the CD. The music evokes many emotions,in particular, the beautiful and romantic Moonglow and theme from Picnic. I love the entire sound and highly recommend this soundtrack especially to those who appreciate the music of the fifies.
