Just one more disc in a collection of records about draggin' on Main Street that tie rock & roll to the hot rod world of bygone eras, Hot Rod Holiday presents a pretty good mix of songs targeted to boomers who recall Bobby Helms's "Jingle Bell Rock" and the Marcels' "Merry Twist-mas" as easily as Dion and Bobby Vee. Of course there's also the Beach Boys' Phil Spectoresque "Merry Christmas Baby" and Fats Domino singing about Rudolph, the Ventures wisking through "Jingle Bells" and "Frosty the Snowman," and Gary U.S. Bonds making a simple request, "Call Me for Christmas." Get it for that gray-headed gear head or Mustang Sally on your block. --Martin Keller

Old School Sleighs - Some I like better than others, with the mix and arrangment outstanding. The tunes are good retrospection of what those rebels of the time would enjoy from the radio as they went a'cruising.I rather like the way they hang, with a few standards tossed about interpertations seldom heard today.Any cd which mixes bar room blues "I Told Santa Claus-Fats Domino",saxed out bebop "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree-Dion,and any instrumental by The Ventures is a great buy bye me.

Enjoyable rockin' holiday hits4
Whenever I'm putting together homemade tapes of Christmas music, this collection plays a major part in it. With the exception of the sound quality of Call Me For Christmas by Gary U.S. Bonds; this is a really good rock & pop collection of tinsel tunes. Highly recommended.
