Customer Reviews

What else can be said about "The Great One"!5
Take the reuniting of the Great Bob Wills with his number one vocalist of the 1940's Tommy Duncan and you have a perfect match. These recordings are all from the 60's and 70's right up to the end of Bob's tremendous life. It's great to hear the conversations before several of the numbers. Even in the early 70's Ole'Bob still had it. Listen for the 7 minute virson of St.Louis Blues one of Bob's most popular songs that he first recorded after hearing the song being performed by Bessie Smith. Even if you own other itemsby the Playboys these songs that were recorded years later should be in any collection of a real Bob Wills Fan. As for me there will never anyone even Asleep at the Wheel whom I love that can duplicate the sound of this Great Performer. For the cheap price that buyers are offering this box set on Amazon one would be crazy not to get this outstanding three CD set. Most of this stuff is live and a real treasure to own. Thanks again Bob!
