Editorial Reviews

With Revenge of the Monster Hits, everyone's favorite Lady in Black, Elvira, has returned with more scary songs (including a few in which her voice is the most frightful element). Charles Sheffield's "It's Your Voodoo Working" is vintage rock, the Tubes' "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman" is synth'd to the max but still a classic tune, and Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" isn't exactly creepy but it is still fun to listen to. And Elvira herself chimes in on a pair of originals, "Haunted House" and "Zombie Stomp." If you're looking for something to scare the trick-or-treaters, you might look elsewhere, but if you're carving pumpkins and want to have some fun for 30 minutes, this disc is for you. --Jason Verlinde

Customer Reviews

Inferior follow up still has some good songs.3
The follow up to Monster Hits, Revenge of the Monster hits does not have the same complete appeal. Several tunes are just not enjoyable, Attack of the 50 foot woman, Weird Science and Zombie Stomp. The others are great and Elvira's own Haunted House has the potential of being a great Halloween single if Rhino would market it as such. My advice for volume 3 which the first album states is coming, remix haunted house remove the corny talking ending, and have Elvira cover "I put a Spell on You" Until then, Unpleasant dreams.

It is okay3
Elvira Presents: Revenge of the Monster Hits is twenty-seven minutes and six seconds long and was released on August 29, 1995. There are only seven songs on this CD. Track one is an introduction to what's on this CD and track nine is Elvira wishing you a spooky Halloween. Elvira does sings on two of these tracks and she has a pleasant voice. The songs I believe are done by the original artists. I will not recommend for or against this CD. The potential buyer is going have to decide for their self. Elvira Presents: Revenge of the Monster Hits gets a C.

Great Halloween CD4
I have purchased this CD twice now. We purchased it years ago, before Hurricane Katrina. We lost our house, and possessions, in Katrina but my boys, now older, never forgot this album. It has some hip, good songs. Many are funny. The songs by Elvira are the best. Recommended.
