From Parents' Choice®
These exquisite "lullabies for guitar" are perfect for drifting and dreaming, whatever your age. Varied, mostly instrumental arrangements of traditional and original pieces from around the world are led by the gifted de Grassi on guitar, with Doug Harmon on haunting cello and Karen Gottlieb on orchestral harp. Moussa Kanouté offers quiet vocals on his lovely, "Mamá, Papá." A sampling of other selections: "The Rain is Pouring" from Ukraine, "Boo Maramba" from Brazil, the Lebanese "When My Soul Embraces You," "Swedish Lullaby," and "A La Nanita Nana" from Spain. These beautiful songs of the heart, performed throughout with delicate clarity and nuance, are balm to the spirit. A 1998 Parents' Choice® Gold Award.

Each and every song a jewel5
I was given this CD when my son was born in 2003, and it truly has become the soundtrack to his life thus far. I can't reminisce about his babyhood without Alex Degrassi's melodies woven therein. Each and every song is a jewel: calming, relaxing, soothing (but Boo Mamba is my personal favorite). I was really disappointed to learn that this CD was going out of print, since I've given a copy to every single baby born in my family and circle of friends since it was given to me. It's definitely worth buying used, and even if someone is asking $20-odd for it, BUY IT!

We carry this CD everywhere!5
This was a great purchase. It is soothing for babies and kids without being annoying to the parents who have to listen to it too. I'll admit I listen to it sometimes to relax when the kids aren't even around. We take it when we travel as part of an established bedtime routine, and even in an unfamiliar environment, the kids settle down quickly when it starts to play. This is on my must-have list for new moms.
