Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com essential recording
One of the touchstones of the Baroque repertoire, Vivaldi's Op. 10 concertos are made up of six excellently composed works that cover virtually the entire emotional and musical range of the Baroque flute. They have been popular with audiences and flute players alike since their original publication back in the first decades of the 18th century, and Galway performs them with his characteristic rhythmic zest and generosity of spirit. This disc clearly belongs on the shortlist for fans of flute music in general or Galway in particular. --David Hurwitz

Impressive virtuoso...5
I was very impressed with the playing on this album. Often I rely on the orchestra to breathe the life into a 17th century piece, but in this case the soloist, James Galway, leads the crowd. His flurries of sound and emotion are something not to be missed. This is a great collection of Vivaldi's Op. 10.
