Editorial Reviews
From Parents' Choice®
This collection of 46 (yes, 46!) Irish children's songs, rhymes and singing games is unique and utterly charming. Collected between 1955 and 1961, mainly from members of the Robert Clancy family of Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, the individual selections are performed by different generations of the same family. Each is presented with such engaging simplicity that listeners will be quickly transported to an Irish kitchen where family members sit around the table singing through the days, weeks and years of their closely interwoven lives. Extensive liner notes supply a cultural context, but the songs-passed from mouth to mouth over the centuries-speak for themselves...as universal and timeless as childhood itself. A 1998 Parents' Choice® Gold Award.

enchanting voices, learn new insights to irish people
This CD is really helpful if you would like to learn new songs for children, the voices are full of laughter and fun ( even when singing about war or the devil) If you collect children's music, or children, this is a must for your collection. With 46 traditional songs on the recording you can't miss.
The Clancy Children
My wife is Irish and I am German, having bought a fabulous CD of German Children's folk songs we felt we needed an Irish equivalent for our 8 month old. It was difficult enough to find this CD and my wife was very pleased to hear nursery rhymes which she had not heard since her childood. The one disappointing thing was that there weren't as many longer songs on the CD as I would have wished. There are very few and don't really last more than a minute.
