Wonderful
This is an amazing cd. The first part is a concert tribute to the late country-rock pioneers Gram Parsons and Clarence White featuring John Beland's reunited Swampwater. They back up the legendary artists Larry Murray, Bobby Bare and Freddy Weller--and the tracks are wonderful. Especially noteworthy is Beland's rendition of a song he wrote with Murray, the pretty ballad 'Emmy'. But all of it is fantastic stuff. There are two live Flying Burrito Brothers tracks also, and they are predictably great. While this isn't a Flying Burrito Bros. cd in the strictest sense of the word, they are on it and Beland (who also produced) is involved with it all the way through, making it not only a great cd but an essential addition to any serious country-rock collection.
