The world was hardly waiting with baited breath for a sequel to John Landis' endearingly sloppy "Blues Brothers." In fact, "Blues Brothers 2000" left nary a vapor trail in theaters on its way to unsuspecting video and cable patrons. Misguided, though lovingly executed, the cross-generation soundtrack makes as much room for Johnny Lang and John Popper as it does for Wilson Pickett, Junior Wells and Paul Butterfield. And how can you not like a record that treats Fred Steiner's classic "Perry Mason Theme" to blues treatment? --Jerry McCulley

Must buy
This is great stuff..After the movie, I knew I needed the Soundtrack, but I has pretty much figured on that even before I saw the movie. All the tracks featuring the Blues Brothers Band are great, especially the Perry Mason Theme, and New Orleans. The CD also introduced me to Erykah Badu, who has an incredible voice. Funky Nassau is a great track, one of the best on the CD. Aretha's new Respect version is great, as expected, and Blues Traveler contributes "Maybe I'm Wrong", another outstanding track. Another short, but enjoyable little song is the Car Crash theme from the movie, "Let there be drums", by the Carl LaFong trio. As short as it is, I really enjoy that one! Allso great to have those John Goodman songs, such as Looking for a Fox and Turn on your love light. You really cant go wrong with this soundtrack, I loved it!

Worth the Money
Don't let the fact that the movie is not all that great deflect you from buying the soundtrack.

This is probably the best collection of blues to come out in years(at least when it is related to a movie)

The gospel classic "John the Revalator"
My own personal favorite "How Blue can you Get"
And the all-time classic "Louisiana"

My impression-The movie may not be up to snuff, but don't let that be said of the soundtrack.

Great CD.
This is basically my favorite CD, I would have bought it just for the Blues Traveler song "Maybe I'm Wrong" Which is a lot longer and 10 times better then it was on the movie. But I really am happy with all the other songs on it, like Respect, John the Revaltor, Harmonica musings, Let There Be Drums, Funky Nassau, How Blue Can You Get?, Turn On Your Love Light, and New Orleans. I would recommend this CD to anyone.
