This rocks from START TO FINISH!5
My God this is a killer album. Derek Davis shows off some killer vocals here. Although every song on this album is awesome, standout tracks are "Hammer Swings Down", "Crossfire", "The Kid Goes Wild", and "Maryanne". Is it possible to be into 80's metal and not like this? Probably not. Babylon A.D. were among many awesome 80's hair bands like XYZ, Killer Dwarfs, TNT, Bang Gang, Jillson, Shotgun Messiah, Britny Fox, and many others that just should have been far more popular. I've never heard Nothing Sacred but I'll review that album soon as I get a hold of it. If you like 80's glam, do yourself a favor and buy this!

Overlooked hard rock debut4
There are a lot of bands that were "overlooked" back in the late 80's and early 90's. When you really think about it, some of those bands deserved to be overlooked. There were a lot of hard rock bands from that era that just didn't stand out from the rest of the pack. Then there are bands like Babylon A.D., who despite having plenty of talent, never seemed to get the attention they deserved.

Released in 1989, the band's self-titled debut was a very solid hard rock/hair metal album. Babylon A.D. had a Warrant meets Tesla sound. It was melodic, but also bluesy with plenty of swagger. Jack Ponti (Surgin) wrote several songs for the album, which was a big help. His ballad "Desperate" is one of the best ballads I've ever heard; though neither Babylon A.D. nor Baton Rouge could make a hit out of it. Hard hitting songs like "Bang Go the Bells", "Hammer Swings Down" and "The Kid Goes Wild", make the album a rockin' good time, and one of the better "hair metal" offerings of the era.

This is a great hard rock album, and it's a real shame that more people didn't hear it. If you're a fan of the late 80's and early 90's hard rock sound, specifically bands like Wildside, Tora Tora, Tangier and Baton Rouge, you'll definitely want to check out Babylon A.D. Unfortunately, the debut is out of print and not easy to track down at a reasonable price.

Good old fashioned 80's hair metal5
This cd rocks. If you like 80's hair metal, then you need to have this in your collection.
