Album Description
This CD features classical piano music accurately reflecting the musical milieu of Jane Austen's period and social sphere. This music may be heard as emanating from the elegant drawing rooms graced by many of Austen's immortal and pianistic heroines. All musical selections are drawn from Austen's personal library, social sphere, or time period.

The CD contains 73 minutes of music by well-known and lesser-known composers, including four complete sonatas, and premiere recordings of works by Cramer, Clementi, and Schobert. Includes a 16-page booklet featuring gorgeous color photography, a bibliography, and in-depth program notes discussing Jane Austen's pianistic background, the role music performance fulfills in Austen's plot/character development and social satire, historic/stylistic sketches of each piece, and the artist's personal speculations as to who might have played what, where, and under what circumstances.

Piano playing that sparkles5
This CD was one of the first in a long line of recordings dealing with music from Jane Austen's time. In a hurry to take advantage of the growing popularity of Austen, many record companies have turned out hastily put-together recordings, some of which don't even feature music of the actual time in which Austen lived. This CD, however, is a different story. It is one of the most well-informed releases in this genre. Ms. Bond has meticulously researched the music, even discovering the music which Austen had in her own personal collection. In the booklet accompanying the CD, Bond has written a delightful and thoughtful essay on the music, and how and by whom it might have been performed in Austen's time. In addition, the CD is beautifully recorded. Ms. Bond's playing literally sparkles and the sound quality is excellent. I highly recommend this to any fan of piano music of the time of Haydn and Mozart, or to any fan of Austen's work. You won't be disappointed!

Austerely Austen5
Ms. Bond's masterful performance clearly captures character and society in Jane Austen's world. Pieces ranging from the sprightly elegant to the privately pensive recall Austen's most endearing literary characters; and the performative demands of the works suggest the public nature of music during the author's lifetime. Perceptive of Austen's wit, pathos and artistry, Bond's selection and presentation wonderfully render the best of this literature through music. This CD is an absolute delight!!

Piano Classics from the World of Jane Austen5
I love this CD and so does my baby! We listen to it everyday. This CD has a very nice mixture of relaxing Classical along with some wonderfully upbeat classics. When my baby is cranky and nothing seems to help, I play this CD and he becomes quiet and soothed. I have also used this CD for stretching music in my aerobic classes and the class has commented on how nice it sounds.
