GOOD IDEA BUT POOR FITTING PARTS
The adapter is a great idea for playing VHS-C tapes in your regular VCR but mine stuck in the VCR every time I used it. All regular VCR tapes worked fine. It needs some refining
Good Luck!
My unit failed on the first use, right out of the box. I inserted a tape per the instructions which was followed by tape loading sounds, immediately followed by a tape chrunching noise followed by nonstop clicking. Given the precious nature of the tape, I gasped and after 30 seconds or so of these mechanical noises I then attempted to eject the tape. No luck. The tape was now stuck in the adapter and the only way to stop the clicking was to remove the battery. Given the difficulity of returning this product (due to my location) and also given that I was not about to return a device that refused to return my tape to me....I decided to risk the warranty and and perform open-adapter surgery myself. Warning, do not try this at home! It is rife with levers, springs and it all flys to pieces when removing the bottom cover. I am a mechanically inclined technician and therefore felt I had no choice. In the end (after about an hour of reverse engineerning, so that I now know how it works, enough to make the necessary repair), all is well and in fact I now use this adapter without problem. What was wrong??...as a previous rater stated..."it is a good idea", but is much to complex for what is needed. This complexity offers way too many failure points. Indeed, a poorly installed part is what caused my original problem. Again, good luck!
didn't work
Didn't work and not worth sending back - I'd spend more money on postage. Got one that worked through Best Buy.
