A Golden Age of Pianism indeed5
Fischer was one of the greatest pianists of the first half of this century, and it shows in every note in this set. Essential if you love these works--the Emperor is possibly the best and most uplifting I've heard on record--and an indication of how far classical music has fallen. (The London Philharmonic and Philharmonia should sound this good today!) If more classical music were performed like this (today), more people might want to listen to classical music.

Edwin Fisher : a sublime pianist!5
The floating bars , the delicacy in the sound combined with the right pulsation and above all the prodigious artistic mind made of Fisher a poet of this intrument .

The Emperor Concerto is simply overwhelming , electrifying and poetic . The 31 Sonata for Piano and the Piano Concerto No. 20 are terrific .

Pitifully the art of playing piano in this way it is considered out fashioned for the most of the pianists actually .

He was teacher of Paul Badura Skoda.
