From the Label
FireHouse has done it again! They're bigger & better than ever. Great melodic rock-n-roll songs with killer riffs & amazing vocals. Wonderfully produced. If you could only add one more disc to your collection, this is the one! *****

About the Artist
During the mid 80's, bassist Perry Richardson and vocalist CJ Snare consistently toured up and down the East Coast of the United States with the group Maxx Warrior. Guitarist Bill Leverty and drummer Michael Foster were busy doing the same with their group, White Heat. As the two bands continued to cross paths, it became inevitable that the four should team up together.

Finally, in 1988 they formed Firehouse. Rather than immediately touring, the group concentrated on writing and recording new material. Meanwhile, "Home Is Where the Heart Is" became a #1 hit at WROQ in Charlotte, North Carolina, and at WKZQ in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and was later released on the first album. After showcasing for many major labels, Firehouse decided on Epic Records.

In 1990, their first album, entitled FIREHOUSE, was released. The band's first single, Shake & Tumble had moderate radio success. The band then released Don't Treat Me Bad, which became their first Top Ten hit. This was followed by Love of a Lifetime, which also entered the Top Ten reaching the #3 spot on the United States Charts. This string of hits vaulted their first album to double platinum status in the United States also going gold in Canada, Japan and Singapore. At the 1991 American Music Awards,Firehouse found themselves standing before the nation accepting the award for Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band.

The band's second album, HOLD YOUR FIRE, was released in 1992. It produced the hits Reach for the Sky and Sleeping with You, plus another Top Ten hit, When I Look into Your Eyes, which peaked on the United States Charts at #6. This album earned the band two more gold albums and over 1 million sales worldwide.

In 1995, Firehouse released their third album on Epic, simply titled 3. Once again Firehouse produced another Top Forty hit in the United States with I Live My Life For You. It was with this album that Firehouse made their first trip to Southeast Asia for a promotional tour. Earlier American hits like Don't Treat Me Bad, Love of a Lifetime, and When I Look into Your Eyes had climbed the charts in Asia, and Here for You, the second single from 3, had also become a hit. The band then continued their promotional tour in South American countries such as Brazil and Argentina.

Their fourth album, Good Acoustics, was released in 1996 and quickly went gold in Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines. Good Acoustics contains unplugged versions of the group's greatest hits, as well as four new songs. This album produced foreign hits such as In Your Perfect World, Love Don't Care, and You Are My Religion At the end of 1996 the band returned to Southeast Asia for another promotional tour. Then, in February 1997, Firehouse embarked on their first concert tour of Southeast Asia playing sold out shows for fans in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan. During May and June they toured the United States before returning to Southeast Asia in July for an unprecedented twenty five city tour of Indonesia.

With fifteen gold and platinum albums in thirteen countries and over four million units sold throughout the world, Firehouse has now released their fifth album, CATEGORY 5, which recently went to #4 in Japan. Band Members: CJ Snare - Vocals Bill Leverty - Guitar, Vocals Perry Richardson - Bass Guitar, Vocals Michael Foster - Drums, Vocals

Totally Addictive4
Being a Firehouse fan since the beginning, I must say that I love the diversity of this album. Each Firehouse album contributes different styles and shows the maturity of the band's writing. Category 5 has some very rocking tunes that showcase the band's harmonizing abilities that so many of us love. There's also some songs that are a little more mellow that a person can just get 'lost' into. The hidden track is extremely different. I love that the band shared this song with us. Basically, I've had Category 5 for 1 1/2 years and it's still in my cd player as one of my top 5 cd's to listen to. The diversity will satisfy any hard rock style. A must buy!

Another rocking hair band that doesn't rock anymore2
What happend to the firehouse of the early 90s? This group went from a once hard rocking band to putting out shlock like Category 5. If you are thinking about buying this because you enjoyed their earlier albums, be prepared to be dissapointed. It's a bunch of mellow rock that I would expect to hear on a radio station in a dentist's office. A station that plays Phil Collins, Sheryl Crow, and Bryan Adams.

4 1/2 star album5
This one is a killer! A bit more mellow than the first album, but it ties the with the first album for being the BEST! Top Hit material in Can't stop the pain; Dream; The Day, The Week, And The Weather; Bringing Me Down; and Acid Rain. If you like medolic rock and killer ballads, this is a must. On the down side, I would actually rate this album 4 and 1/2 stars. The first reason is that it is an import in the U.S and very hard to get a hold of. The second reason is because of the "hidden, unlisted tune" after Life Goes On. Wait for about 15 to 20 seconds, and a weird un-firehouse like tune starts to play. It is completely different from the normal Firehouse sound, almost like a techo-metal sound. If you are a Firehouse fan, this album is a must have!
