Editorial Reviews
From the Manufacturer
The Rip Master increases ripping capacity of Makita table saws to a full 27 inches. Its cam lock fence squares exactly to the blade for smooth, accurate cuts every time, and includes a hairline indicator over a tape measure for quick, precise fence adjustment. The handtruck design and 10-inch stair climbing wheels provide easy transfence adjustment, easy transport, and storage. Quick mount legs raise the saw to 36 inches and adjust to uneven floors for a very stable working platform. The extension table has a slick Melamine coating for smooth material movement.
Customer Reviews
Worth every penny
This bad boy can take an ordinary bench saw and turn it into a high end cutting machine. I bought one for my Makita 2708 about six years ago. Let me tell you , it just made the saw so much more useful. Not only do you get increased capacity , you get increased safety. This thing is rock solid. If you buy this spend a little more and buy the outfeed table. The whole setup is very impressive. Sheet goods , even by yourself, are a piece of cake. Long stock is no problem. You don't have to push the stock half way and then hurry and jump around back to pull it the rest of the way through. Just safely and smoothly push it through from the front. After having one of these for so long , I can't stand using someone elses table saw.Unless they have this or a rousseau. Even the new Dewalt and Bosch saws are no match for this. When I got my new Makita 2703 I bought the rousseau instead of another Trojan. There are many differences. The advantages this has over the rousseau:
1 It's much easier to set up. 2 It's much easier to move around 3 It stores as one unit 4 It's lighter 5 It has wheels so you don't have to carry it
Now the advantages of the rousseau:
1 You're not stuck with the whole unit all the time 2 For small jobs you can use the saw by itself 3 It's more stable 4 It's built heavier 5 The fence is Wider and longer and operates more smoothly 6 The Table has formica on top and bottom , not melamine on just the top 7 The outfeed table adds even more stability 8 You can't lose the legs as they are part of the design
Either way you can't go wrong!
Fits Most Saws
In case you're wondering if the RipMaster will work with your saw, it most likely will. It's universal design will attach to just about every aluminum top, direct drive, benchtop saw made (including the Makita 2702 and 2703). It doesn't fit the Dewalt 744, the new Bosch 4000 or the Ryobi BT3000, but Trojan makes a cart/stand model for those saws too(SC-744). Good luck.
Good value
Here's the deal. This base makes small table saws a lot more useful. It took about 1.5 hours to set up and tune. Quality and parts were ample - I added a few flat washers to improve connections.
It fit my saw ProTech 4006 even thought that model number was not listed. Fence and ruler are high quality - remember this is the reason to buy it - 100% better than stock fence on any small saw.
I trimmed a bit here and there but found it worth what I paid. Note - this makes the under table router mount much more useful too!
