Album Description
This is one of the most amazing a cappella CDs to come along in a while! Contemporary men's quintet m-pact show their jazz roots as they commission the biggest names in vocal arranging to collaborate on some astounding pieces. Among the 11 tunes there's not an ounce of filler. The profound, groundbreaking centerpiece is Roger Treese's "Christmas Time Is Here," a nine-minute trance-inducing aural landscape (don't listen and drive at the same time!). There's shades of Take 6 on Randy Crenshaw's "Caroling, Caroling" although Cedric Dent's contribution was "Away In A Manger." The majestic arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by m-pact's own Marco Cassone is Singers Unlimited on steroids - wow! Amy "Bob" Englehardt adds lyrics to "Sugar Plum Fairy" and Michelle Weir's arrangement transforms it into a driving 10/8 jazz masterpiece. Similarly "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" becomes a jazz waltz - very cool! m-pact gets funky on "Little Drummer Boy" before returning to classic vocal jazz on "Jingle Bells" and sublime, Singers Unlimited-style smooth vocals on "Snowfall." They go Caribbean on "De King Is Born Today" and are only "contemporary rock" - their more typical style - on original "December Fades Away."

If you have a chance...see M-Pact in person
These accapella singers are wonderful! Not only is this CD a year-round treat, their previous CD's are also great...especially, "A Mile in My Shoes" off "2".
The Carol Commision
Possibly the greatest Christmas recording to date! With m-pact's tight harmonies and great chords, this one is a must. I have not listened to anything else in the last week! The great thing about the CD is there are traditional christmas songs with a jazz/funk feel, and some other songs that I have never heard. The arrangements are done by some the greatest in the industry, including Cedric Dent of the great Take 6. I still cant believe how beautiful the high tenor's voice is. This CD is a must for any collection. Both young and old should have this!
Awesome a cappella!
This is a very fine album, well produced, but not over produced, full of polished performances. The Singers are excellent, Men with such pure and clear Upper Tesituras as to make any soprano jealous. If your tastes include Take 6, Singers Unlimited, Transfer, New York Voices, and even some moments of Swingle, You'll be enthralled by this album.
