Gorgeous recording of Handel's orchestral music
A beautiful recording of some of Handel's great operatic music. Some of the tracks are well known as arias, such as Lascia ch'io panga from Rinaldo and Ombra mai fu from Serse. But you won't hear a single human voice on this CD. Is it Standage's verion of those CDs of Wagner called "The Ring without voices?" Maybe, but it is well worth a listen.

I've not listened to this one in a while and it's because it's not worth listening to.I could forgive this band's versions if they'd been recorded in the 60's,but simply playing period instruments does not a classic make. There isn't a thing interesting about these rehearsals and it's companion"Handel at the Oratorio" .If you like Circus music, then you'll enjoy this.
